On Monday, the eldest son of nominated Member of Parliament David Sankok committed suicide at his family’s house in Narok County.
According to reports, the son, a Form Four student at Maseno School in Kisumu County, shot himself in the head with his father’s gun.
During the incident, the legislator was not at home. It’s unclear how the youngster gained access to the firearm, which was supposed to be safely guarded.
What led the boy to commit suicide was not immediately clear. The family, on the other hand, is said to have expressed concerns about his academic performance.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) visited the home on Monday afternoon to probe the incident.
