Administrator of the Teachers’ Medical Scheme AON Minet has launched a program to enhance the staff’s physical, mental, and social wellbeing. TSC Wellness The program was launched in May 2022 as a result of a two-day webinar that Minet and the Commission jointly held.
The initiative seeks to reduce hospitalization by treating illnesses and providing members with psychosocial support. Beneficiaries of the Chronic Disease Management Program will have access to a range of services during free medical clinics and virtual sensitisation sessions.
“CDM programmes are proactive and can support patients with illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, heart failure, and depression,” Minet said in a statement.
TSC Chief Executive Nancy Macharia recently reaffirmed that the Commission will continue championing for better healthcare for teachers. Dr Macharia particularly asked all the teachers to take advantage of the COVID-19 cover to protect themselves and their families.
She praised Minet for being the first scheme to cover the COVID-19-related ailments. At least 1,000 teachers and their loved ones have been admitted to various hospitals over serious COVID-19-related ailments since the first case of the pandemic was received inMarch 2021.
