Charlene Ruto has warned Kenyans about scammers targeting job seekers using fake social media accounts.
Through a statement dated Wednesday, October 19, President William Ruto’s daughter stated that some job seekers were hoodwinked by fraudsters promising to secure them jobs at his father’s Weston Hotel located along Lang’ata Road in Nairobi.
Charlene lamented that the scammers were soliciting money from unsuspecting Kenyans and even, to some extent, tarnishing her name.
“I have had enough! Met a young lady this morning who informed me that she was assured, by someone using my identity on social media, that she would get a job if she sent money to them and to meet them at Weston Hotel, even through WhatsApp,” her statement read in part.
She thus warned job seekers and other Kenyans to steer clear of social media accounts bearing her name.
