Azimio la Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga has picked academic scholar Professor Isaiah Kindiki as one of his chief agents in the presidential election.
Kindiki, who is the elder brother to Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki, will deputise Saitabao ole Kanchory – the Chief Agent – alongside Nyeri Deputy Governor Caroline Karugu, ODM Executive Director Oduor Ong’wen and Raila’s longtime lawyer Paul Mwangi.
The development sets the stage for an interesting encounter as Kithure will also be the chief agent to deputy president William Ruto.
Kithure is a loyal Ruto ally and was appointed after missing the running mate slot. His brother, on the other hand, is a longtime ODM operative who has stuck with Raila for years.
The Kindiki family boasts of possessing distinguished academic excellence as his four brothers possess PhDs in various disciplines.
Kithure holds a PhD in law from the University of Pretoria, South Africa while his elder brother, Isaiah, is a professor of Soil Physics from the University of South Africa.
Stephen Kithinki Kindiki is a professor of Linguistics at Daystar University while professor Moses Mpuria Kindiki is a renowned lecturer at Maasai Mara University.
