A nationwide recruiting drive for servicemen and women has been launched by the National Youth Service (NYS).
The service published an advertisement in neighborhood dailies on Tuesday, August 16, announcing that it is seeking both male and female volunteers to participate in the NYS initiative.
The workout will start on August 29 and end on September 3 (Monday through Saturday).
A portion of the notice read, “The Kenya National Youth Service wishes to inform the general public that a recruitment exercise for NYS Volunteers (male and female) will be conducted throughout the Republic from Monday, 29th August to Saturday, 3 September 2022 as per the below requirements and dates schedule.”
Each applicant must be at least 18 years old and possess a current Kenyan identification card.
Additionally, candidates must be citizens of Kenya and residents of the sub-county in which they are applying.
A Certificate of Good Conduct and academic certifications, as well as a minimum KCSE grade of D (simple), are also required of applicants.
A medical exam must be agreed upon by applicants both during and after the recruitment process.
They must also be willing to volunteer for the country in any region of the Republic of Kenya in addition to undergoing tough physical training.
The chosen candidates must report to NYS College, Gilgil and NYSTTI Naivasha on the dates and times noted in their individual calling letters in order to participate in the NYS paramilitary training course.
