The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has issued a viral notice claiming that its portal is now open for university, college, and TVET applications for the 2022/2023 academic year.
A KUCCPS spokesman told the media that the public should dismiss the information and that formal communication would be released through their official channels.
The KUCCPS portal, according to the official, has yet to be opened.
Candidates who had recently completed their national tests and had yet to apply to universities, colleges, or TVET schools had an opportunity to do so, according to the fake announcement.
The notice also stated that candidates must enter their KCSE index number, year of examination, and password, which is their birth certificate number.
According to the announcement, students with a minimum grade of C+ can apply for degree programs at both public and private universities across the country.
“The KUCCPS portal is now officially available for 2022/2023 University, College, and TVET applications. Students who have completed their high school education but have yet to apply can now do so on the KUCCPS website. Use your birth certificate number as your password and enter your KCSE index number and KCSE year.”
