The seven were burnt to ashes after their houses were attacked by bandits believed to originate from West Pokot and set ablaze.

Photos showed the silhouettes of the deceased individuals with reports indicating that the attack occurred on the night of Sunday, July 31.

Survivors from the horrific incident are also yet to surface.

Maalim noted that investigations into the tragic incident have been launched across the expansive Turkana County.

The attack came even as the state continues to institute security measures in the war-torn zone following a periodic eruption of cattle raids and bandit attacks.

The incident captured the attention of Turkana politicians including that of County Woman Representative Aspirant Cecilia Asinyen.

“I wish to condemn with the strongest terms possible the attack meted on the people of Napeitom village Kapedo/Napeitom Ward Turkana East by the suspected bandits.

“I call upon the all the security agencies to speed up the investigation and the perpetrators to face the law,” stated Asinyen.
